Mesa Carrier Training

This training invites those called to carry sacred medicine consciously — building a true mesa (medicine bundle), honoring the four directions, and learning how to hold and guide trauma healing for others through the mesa.

A mesa — the living medicine-bundle of the Andean tradition — has served for millennia as a bridge between human, earth, spirit, and ancestor.  

As a Mesa Carrier, you carry not only stones (khuyas) and sacred items, but a commitment: to your inner healing journey, ethical clearings, grounded service, and connection with Earth and Spirit.  

This training is for people of all genders who feel called to sit in this medicine with reverence, integrity, and humility.

What You Will Receive & Learn: 

  • A deep, lineage-rooted understanding of the mesa: its meaning, origin, and ethical use.

  • How to gather, consecrate, and work with khuyas (medicine stones).

  • Your own fully assembled mesa (stones + altar) — a personal medicine bundle that evolves as you grow.

  • Foundation in trauma-sensitive, energy-based healing methodology (your Illumination Trauma Healing) using the mesa, including chakra realignment, energetic clearing, and compassionate guidance.

  • Real-world practice through supervised peer healing sessions, cultivating confidence, empathy, and embodied skill.

  • Tools for holding space for others — while maintaining your own energetic integrity, boundaries, and self-care.

  • A community of like-minded seekers and healers, walking this path together.

Who This Training is For:

This work is for individuals of any gender who:

  • Feel called to carry sacred medicine with maturity, integrity, and reverence

  • Have done some inner work (healing, shadow work, self-awareness)

  • Are committed to personal and ancestral healing

  • Are willing to show up, practice, and hold space responsibly for others

  • Understand that this path is not a quick fix, but a lifelong commitment to growth, service, and connection

Why 9 Sessions Over 4 Months?

The training honors the pace of true initiation and integration — not rushing, but allowing time for the medicine to settle and for personal growth to unfold. The first part (directions + mesa building) grounds you in tradition and energetic structure; the second part (illumination healing) brings this medicine into embodied action.

By the end, you will not just know the mesa — you will live it, carry it, and be able to offer its medicine with integrity and heart.

9-Session Mesa Carrier Training

A 4-Month Foundational Apprenticeship

Each 90-minute session builds on the last, guiding you through creating and activating your mesa, connecting with your khuyas, and learning Illumination Trauma Healing.

SESSION 1 — Foundations of the Mesa

Introductions • History and purpose of the mesa • Working with khuyas • Ethics, grounding, and preparing for this path.

SESSION 2 — South Direction Initiation

Teaching the South direction of the medicine wheel • Initiating the South khuyas • Releasing your own personal & ancestral stories.

SESSION 3 — West Direction Initiation

Teaching the West direction • Initiating the West khuyas • Deepening connection to facing the darkness, unhealed emotions, and transformation.

SESSION 4 — North Direction Initiation

Teaching the North direction • Initiating the North khuyas • Connecting to ancestors, wisdom, and lineage medicine.

SESSION 5 — East Direction Initiation

Teaching the East direction • Initiating the East khuyas • Visioning, illumination, and new beginnings.

SESSION 6 — Your Lineage Stone & Upper Realm Journey

Connect with your personal lineage stone • Journey to the Upper Realm to receive messages for all your khuyas • Deepening insight, guidance, and ancestral connection.

SESSION 7 — Introduction to Illumination Trauma Healing

Understanding trauma imprinting in the energy field • Using the mesa for clearing and chakra realignment • Foundations of offering Illumination to others.

SESSION 8 — Illumination Q & A + Practitioner Support

Questions, refinement, and guidance for your Illumination practice • Ethics, boundaries, and practitioner presence.

SESSION 9 — Integration & Next Steps

Closing circle • How to continue working with your mesa • How to offer this work responsibly • Final reflections and blessings.

I'm Bird Mejia

Beautiful Soul, it is not an accident that you have made your way here. I am your reflection. So while this is my story, your story has many similarities. We have both struggled. And no matter what life has brought us, we still love. Your heart is like my heart. No matter how it's been hurt, your heart has survived. And so have you. Now it's your turn time to fly. It's your time to be unconditionally loved and supported and guided on your life journey. I am honored to guide you.  

When I was a young woman, I was broken in many ways. I desperately sought a wise, older woman to guide me, mentor me, show me the way. My own mother wasn't able to provide this for me, and at the young age of 23 I entered a narcissist marriage. For many years I searched for this wise woman to guide me. I never found her, so one day I decided I would become her. I wanted to one day help other women who needed her.   

While I believe my 55 years of life experience is my greatest teacher, I have earned two Master’s degrees and completed graduate work in psychotherapy. I am trained in lots of healing modalities, including Shakti Naam Yoga, breathwork, sound meditation, Reiki, Harmonyum Healing, chakra healing, the medicine ways of my indigenous Mexican ancestors, generational trauma healing and more.

I come from a lost lineage of healers and intuitives from my Mexican side, and I believe that many of us come from lineages lost to our ancient ancestral medicines. With 15 other lineages in my DNA, I am passionate about humans healing and uniting and creating a better world for us all. It is my joy to share with you what I have learned.
